HDTV as External Display

I have:

XPS M1330
8400GS Graphics
HDMI out on laptop, going from HDMI to HDMI via HDMI cable..
Philips 47'' 1080p HDTV

I've tried many settings, suggestions in threads, and nVidia drivers; but no matter what I do, the external display (HDTV) looks like crap. The letters are barely readable and it just looks terrible.

Let me know anything else you may need to know. I would LOVE to be using my HDTV as my lappy's monitor; and it's really stressing me out. Thanks in advance!

Plz close thread. Embarassingly; there was a burried option in my TV easily overlooked that set 'PC MODE' which made my 1080p HDMI input from my laptop crisp as expected. Thx neways
