512 MB max but only 224 MB is seen, wth!?!?

I have installed 512 mb of Ram in my PCG-FX340 but the bios only sees 224MB so does Hardware profiles?

Does anyone know what might be wrong, thanks in advance.

One other thing, If I leave the 128MB stick in and put the 512MB in as well it reads 224MB.

However, if I pull out he 512 MB stick, 128 MB is seen.

So the laptop is only seeing 96 MB of the 512 MB stick?

Any Ideas?

It doesn't matter which slot I install the RAM in.

your system calls for max 512mb - so 2x256MB may be the only possible combination
