Acer Aspire 3680 won't turn on.

*I bought this acer today, used. It was working.


at 5pm EST today my acer was working fine, I was deleting programs I don't use anymore, I left it on it went to standby and I left for the evening. At 11 pm EST after arriving back home, the acer still where I left it, was off. A half hour later I tried powering it up and it wouldn't, the light indicator at the bottom left of the base was on orange, then went to green after a bit.

-20 seconds of holding the power button
-taking the battery out for a bit and retrying
-unplugging the ac from the wall then retrying
- 2-3 at the same time

is what I've tried.

this is a huge nuisance.

Were you uninstalling programs or deleting them?? Were you unistalling them from the control panel Add/Delete programs or elsewhere. Are you sure it was only programs that were being uninstalled???.
Did the recovery disks happen to come with it. By the way, you didnt mention what OS you were using, I assume its XP

Yep its XP.


I know the person I bought it from and was watching over them telling them what to uninstall. It was stuff life printing software/webcame software/stuff I dont have but she does ex:games.

Try replacing the plug and then the battery. You may have had some damage to the wire that is not visible and/or the battery is aso damaged and the circuit is not staying complete. There is a drain somewhere.
