I'm using an Alienware laptop, and I'm having difficulty with adding a second monitor to mirror the laptop screen.
It worked fine for a while, but I messed something up. It switched to "extended desktop."
When I go into "properties/display properties" to uncheck the "extend my desktop to this monitor" box, the monitor becomes gray'd out and detached as soon as I hit it. When I set the monitor to "attached" again, its back to "extended desktop" and so on and so forth.
Its important to note that I'm using Windows XP, and my laptop keyboard no longer works - I'm using a standard USB keyboard instead.
