Darq's HTPC. - Page 3

I'd be very concerned about shorting something out with that paste, but sounds like performs well if you don't get it anywhere it shouldn't be. I'm currently using the non-conductive MX-2. Seems to work fine, and spreads easily.

Amen. I can't remember a time I've put AS5 on my proc that it didn't get everywhere inside my case some how.

Nice little machine Darq. I have 2 XQPack cases, though one houses an old Athlon XP system I built years ago. hasn't been booted in about as long.

Be mindful of the PSU though. My more powerful XQPack machine had its PSU fan start making noise and unfortunately Apevia doesn't sell just the PSUs by themselves as far as I can find. I had to strap a spare 60mm fan I had to the PSU with zip ties. One of these days I'll get it opened up and replace the fan inside the PSU.

Thanks for the heads up on the PSU Evil. If it acts up I will pull it and make the Corsair 650Watt fit in there some how.

If you use the shortest SATA optical drive you can find with 90 degree SATA data and power connectors, you MIGHT be able to squeeze a full sized ATX PSU in that case. I tried it with mine and one of my dead PSUs I use for mock-up, but I couldn't get it to fit with a PATA drive.

Good to know. Then again, I will cut/machine/weld if I have to.

What PSU is in there right now?

Also, I know the corsair HX PSU's for the 650 and 520 watt versions are smaller full ATX PSU's, so I would think they would fit inside the XQPak.

Darq has the PSU that came with the case in there right now.

I checked on Newegg they have a selection of 16 different kinds of Micro ATX PSUs. The will definitely fit the case. However I'm not sure how great Athena power PSUs are. The only mATX PSUs they have from a vendor I'm familiar with is FSP, and the highest wattage they have is 300W.
