MSI Gaming Notebooks - which one and why

Thread Starter
I am undecided between these two notebooks. I believe the Intel processor would be faster than the AMD, but the AMD model has the faster video. I plan on using this for gaming as well as htpc to a certain degree. Not as far as using it as a dvr, but to stream br movies to my big screen using the hdmi out.

You can click the links to see the full specs. These both look like very good deals to me.

All opinions appreciated.

You seem to have answered your own question. The Intel is a faster CPU but the 9600GT is the faster video card.

If you shop around you might be able to find a deal on a system that has both so you don't have to compromise. They also have different screen sizes and different resolutions. In games the lower resolution will allow games to run faster with a given graphics card. It's not really practical to lower the resolution of your screen for a video game or any other application since it greatly reduces the visual quality.

You should consider the size and screen resolution you want primarily before shopping for any notebook since that's the most important part.
