Looking for a laptop - Page 3

Thank you all for guiding me thus far, I have just purchased a Dell 610. and Had a couple last questions. First off can wireless bluetooth connect to headphone devices for music uses such as listening to itunes through a wireless headset from bluetooth on your laptop? I am not sure if I should get internal blue tooth or not. Lastly, I am getting this Laptop for $220 refurbished, and though I know that warranties are really based on a users opinion, I still dont know if it would be a good thing to have on this laptop. I normall would buy the warranty in a second, but the price is $50 for a year on a $200 laptop, and I am not sure if that is worth it. Should I still get the warranty? There is also a 2 year for $80 dollars, but I figure after the first year I will know how to keep it in good order.

What are the terms of the warranty? Bottom line, how is the replacement being wording? These issues can help you determine if the warranty is worth taking or not, on this small investment.

Can't confirm much on 3rd party warranty, it is like you are buying insurance. Square Trade is doing a booming business within eBay. You can cross check them with eBay members and see.

Give them a shot. The feedbacks on their site look impressive, with the percentage of satisfied customers. Pay their service with some form of payments that you can fall back on, should the product (in this case the service) is not up to par.

Simply saying - dont pay for it with cash.

can someone tell me what kind of RAM i need to get for the D610 laptop? I have searched for compatible sticks and came up with pc2-3200 and pc5300 SODIMM and i dont know what to get.

From one of many memory selling sites:

"Machine name: Dell Latitude D610
...
Memory Speed options: PC2-4200 DDR2-533 200pin SDRAM SODIMM
Special notes:
- The D610 will run in dual channel mode with the installation of two identical memory modules.
- One memory slot can be found under the keyboard and one memory slot can be found on the back.
- This system is configurable with either DDR2-400 or DDR2-533. These are compatible, however when mixed they default to DDR2-400."

most notebooks will run any diffrent types of ram

i ran a 256mb of ddr2-533 along side a 1gb ddr-667
