You didnt mention what operating system you are using but assume XP. This link may be helpful

You can try a program called Partition Magic or just re-format the system and create just one partition that you would like.

If your running factory setup like mine, your probably running fat32 file system,32gb is the max, above that ntfs is used for larger drives.I could go into detail, but it's a very lengthy formula.Do a search for fat32 drive size limitations. As partition magic will tell ya,you can convert a fat32 to an ntfs partition, but you should back up any files you don't want to lose,as some fat32 files are not recognised by ntfs file system, and they will be written over,as if they don't even exist on drive.
Your best bet is,if your starting from scratch, let xp format the drive in ntfs, but if you have a bunch of older programs you use, might want to stick with fat32,might be some compatibility issues with ntfs.New Technology File System.

Do you own this site?

Irreguardless how old the thread was, nobody answered the question, and anybody reading it then,or now.Now has an answer. You gonna keep harrassing me,everytime I post something? What in the information I posted, was incorrect? If it was incorrect,I could see you saying something, but it wasn't.Microsoft, has identical answer on their site.
If you are indeed part of site management, delete strings if you don't want anybody replying to them.If the question asked, was never answered, the string, and question,is still current, and relevant, until it is answered.Reguardless how old it is.The next guy/gal looking for an answer, now has one. That's how I found this site,an out of date string on an Acer 3000,that nobody ever gave an answer to.

Michelle's remark of "please" not digging old thread did not mean "harassment" to you or any members here at NBF. It is a standard phrase that you probably come across many times in many forums about posting in an "old" thread.

I agreed with you regarding old threads that can still be relevant, especially when consumers are hanging on a bit longer on their systems.

I feel that it is best that we open a new thread when coming across an "old" relevant thread, put in a query or post an answer and link it back to the old thread. This action would also show that members have made a brilliant effort in searching the forum first for answers before posting.

Not the first time

I posted on an acer 5920 string, about a defect in Acer 3000,and 5000 models, that requires removing batteries to stop them from locking up,and making keyboard, and touch pad inoperable, and Acers lack of enthusiasm to help customers. Was just trying to suggest removing battery to see if it resolved his problem temporarily, and supplied him with contact info for ftc.gov to file a consumer complaint if he wished to do so against Acer,as I believe a laptop should last longer than 13 months, like mine, and an alarming number of unfortunate people who bought these models have the same story of 1 or 2 months out of warrantee, this happens. And I relayed a story of a guy on here who has sent his back to Acer for service to fix this problem, and they have replaced motherboard, and hard drive twice to fix problem, and he was sending it back again, same problem,he had bought extended warrantee.
In response to my post, she told me,not to be highjacking their string with my rant, and implied I was an idiot,it was just a bad battery.I replied, told her it wasn't rant, was just trying to help, and asked why Acer replaced the guys mainboard, and 2 hdrives if it was a simple bad battery.
My next post was this one,in which she told me not to be digging up old threads.I'm a pretty nice guy,but I'm not gonna take crap from somebody when I'm just trying to help.
I don't subscribe to emails from site,so I'm guessing these are sent to everybody who does.
Wouldn't it be more advantageous if a time limit was offered on old threads to opt out of getting replies to them if X months old? Instead of having multiple threads/posts on same subject using up space, and resources on server searching for threads on same thing?
I enjoy reading, and learning, but there's a lot of posts on here that nobodies ever answered.
After awhile this site will be seriously cluttered, and people will quit using it,cuz there's umpteen posts, here there, and everywhere,on the same subject matter.I done a search for Acer aspire 3000 locking up,and got 20+ pages.

I review the other thread and posts. No extra input from me about the content except that I am sorry that you feel Michelle "implied that you were an idiot". It did not come across to me that way.

Michelle (and many others) would ask any members not to dig up old thread. Just because (here in this thread) you were the one right after the lively discussion in the other thread, it would not deter Michelle from asking you the same thing. It has nothing to do with your input in other threads.

It is a valid suggestion, I can take this up further within Admins/Mods group. It is also true that for a while NBF left many threads/posts unanswered. We have made efforts to change this as to make members aware that they are not being ignored. It has got better with old members coming back and new members like you that are willing to exchange informative posts.

cheers ...
