Vaio SZ2HP Camera Problem

Thread Starter
Hey there!

The webcam from my SZ2HP stopped working, apparently due to some driver problem, as it returns: "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)".

Tried to install the driver again [both from the Driver backup I already had in my pc and also the Original Drivers zip file I found in Vaio UK webpage (which also includes an hotfix KB909667 that won't run, as "Setup has detected that the Service Pack version of this system is newer that the update you are applying. There is no need to install this update.")] but it keeps not working. And when I say not working I mean it won't even appear on My Computer (not really installed, as device manager shows a yellow (!) on top of the camera).

Meanwhile I installed DriverMax (do anyone uses it?) which finds all my drivers to be working properly, except the Sony Visual Communication Camera VGP-VCC2 one, as it found a -1 (yes, minus 1) number of driver files (check printscreen, with the report files on the right). It also returned an error log that I present here hoping anyone can make sense of it and give some suggestion on how to proceed.

I'm running XP Business and I suspect the camera problem came with SP3 (not sure, don't use the camera that much - until now, that I really need it). Someone has a clue?

Thank you!
