Hey guys,
Lately i've decided that i wanna get external LCD and take advantage of my full HD 1920x1200 and first thing i did was bought the Creative Sound BLaster X-fi.
SO i can get better sound ;-)
It works....but for some unknown reason i am getting sound destortion whenever i open a new window, regrdless if it is brower or any other. The only thing that solves the issue is REFRESH on My Computer or Desktop. I reinstalled the whole windows - did a fresh installation. The drivers are fine. It brings out the sound, but i cant understand wwhy this is happening. I am afraid if i buy the docking module it will be waste of money. Even sometimes when an external speekers are anabled when i connect headphones i still get the sound out of Laptop speekers. i have to deactivate it from the SB Volume Panel. But that is not a problem for me. The destortions are.

When I use my X-fi with my m9700, I disable the onboard sound. It's a different platform though so I don't know if that'll help. You can do that through the bios, or device manager I think.

Also, there's a setting with the X-Fi where you can tell it to play through the laptop speakers or not. It's a checkbox somewhere. I uncheck that as with the m9700 the sound has to go through the X-fi, then through the onboard sound to get to the onboard speakers, and that causes a delay that screws up movies and games.

My Realtek Sound card is desibled from teh moment i installed SB.
I know about the box that you have to check in order to get sound through the laptop speekers. Regardles if it is checked or not i still get that noise that messes up the sound even through a headphones.
I never had any delays though.
