HP and Arizona State University have teamed up to release very strong highly flexible displays and have demo'ed a prototype. The display called "e-displays" are made out of almost entirely plastic and reportedly use far less power than current displays. Still no news however on when this awesomeness will be available commercially.
ASU opened up their Flexible Display Center four years ago funded largely by the US Army Research Lab. At the time they had displayed a somewhat bendable display prototype. The Army's interests were to create very lightweight, low power consuming displays to deploy into field with soldiers.

[Edit] I'm not sure if this is where this should go but it's just too cool not to post[end edit]
