In 2 weeks I'm ordering. I'm kinda torn between the 4080 and 5690, but it seems the 5690 has a lot more muscle.
Here are my easy questions...

How was your ordering (fast? good service?)

What kind of FPS do you get in major games?

How do you rate the 5690 overall?

I read the review here for the 5690 and wasn't really satisfied

No one has a 5690 recommendation? I guess that speaks for itself then.

I ordered my 5690 on a Saturday and received it the following Thursday. I think that is pretty quick!

I can't tell you FPS, b/c I don't really play many FPS games. I have played UT2k4 at 1600x1200 32bit with everything else default and had no lag (was playing on a LAN) or visual artifacts. I also played City of Heroes for several hours with no major issues. The only thing you have to be careful of is it gets pretty hot if not properly venalated (sp?). It is fine if used on a flat desk, though.

Hope that helps.

Hallo,
I heve the similar question like Stelthvic.
I live in Slovakia and I want to buy the notebook in the States. Only the Dell and PC Torque / Sager / can to provide the international warranty for me. I´m considering to buy Sager 5690 or Dell I9100. From pictures I´m feeling that Sager has better construction / no plastic? /, but I9100 has faster DVD writer and it uses screen made by Samsung and Sharp which are better than Hitachi / from what I've read on Dell forum /.

Could anyone to write more about built quality, screen etc.? Which one suggest to me?

Thanks

I just ordered the 5690. Not that I care either way, but I thought the 5690 was plastic???? Am I wrong?? I assumed it was from seeing the cracking issue on the chasis

I had the xps and sent it back. Although it was plastic, it seemed extremely durable.

if the 5690 stays true to it's predecessor...my 5660...it's probably a beautiful machine...based on those numbers!
