7950 gtx vs 8700m gt?

I see the 9750 now comes with the 8700 is the 8700 more powerful?I am actually looking into selling my 9700 and upgrading not sure to what yet.I know i said i would never buy an alienware again but we'll see(this time getting 3yr warranty)I am also looking into the m17 which is bettar for gaming?I like the fact that m17 has faster processors and ddr3 but how are the radeon cards vs nvidia?

They are quite equal, one or other is the faster. On older s/w I believe 7950 GTX has the edge. 8700 is no way an improvement except support for DX10.
