Hp Dv4t display with Intel graphics card Issues

I got my new dv4t, WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Infinity Display (1280 x 800) with Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD.

I am totally disappointed with display, its too whitish . Just wondering its the default behavior or I lack any settings. Even my old laptop gives more colorful pics and video

Any one has any thoughts or similar issues

Try playing with different desktop background? Dimming? Turn on ClearType, if you are using XP?

cheers ...

I do not think that you should be experiencing this, and maybe this sounds a bit "picky", but if I had a notebook out of the box with poor color/contrast, and it was not an obvious setting adjustment, I would immediately return it. Hey, it happens, and I do not think that if a very easy adjustment did not make it totally satisfying, the smart move would be to turn it in for another.

I have seen this model around, and none of the DV4T series with the infinity screen that I have seen, had anything but nice, acceptable (maybe not "outstnding", but they are 1280x800 screens, after all!) displays, certainly not too "white" or washed out in appearance.

Thanks for the replies. First I will check a similar model in a shop and make sure that it has a display problem before returning it.
