Add Bluetooth to HP DV4Z?

Hi All,

My wife gave me a HP DV4Z Laptop for a gift. Since it was not ordered with Bluetooth. I would like to add, if possible, the internal bluetooth module. Is this possible? If so, what part number should I look for?

Bluetooth module for HP is Broadom BCM2045 Bluetooth module, BCM92045NMD. I am not sure if you can post-install one if not ordered at the time of delivery. Some brands/models allow post-installation, some not. You can try to contact the sellers direct for confirmation before committing.

Internal bluetooth is a small board. Unless it's accessable from the bottom case, most models you have to take out the motherboard to install the internal module. DV9000 or DV6000 is an example, change the module you only need to take out the top cover, but adding a new one with cable, you need to take out the motherboard because the cable runs along the bottom case, then connect to a connector near wireless and keyboard connector on the top of motherboard.

In short, the connector is under the keyboard and top cover, but the cable runs under the motherboard from the connector to the internal bluetooth module.
