Dell Inspiron 1521 Running slow

Well, here is my first post!

I have been having a problem with my 1521 running slow recently. So I lreinstalled the Vista x64 OS, and upgraded 2 more gigs of ram (4gb total). Still! No improvment in games. I used to be able to run Halo PC, and counterstrike: source smoothly at decent settings. Now, i get extremely low fps. No matter what graphics settings are on, the FPS is around the same.

I even replaced the harddrive!

What else is there to check? Is there a way i can speed my CPU fan up a bit? I8k doesnt work...there must be another way.

. Try turning off AV?
. Review your router (if you use it)?
. Review your running processes and services?
. Looked for game patches?
. Vista service pack updated?

. AV = Antivirus app
. Overheating should not slow your internet connections, it would just blah your comp!

It isnt my internet that is running slow. I have a 30/15 connection. My laptop is overall running slow.

Are you running slow as far as game concerns (according to your OP)?
