I was working on my laptop in the morning and, when I finished shut the lid. When I came back that afternoon the laptop has failed to start, no posting, no LEDs, nothing. I have checked that my power cord is working correctly (gotta love voltmeters).
There are three things I can thing are wrong
1. Dead battery (preventing charge and normal operation)
2. Dead motherboard
3. Bad connection between power cord and motherboard (unlikely)
I think the battery might be the culprit but it was holding a normal charge with no power problems before this. The motherboard might be it but I am not sure how to diagnose this.
Is there something else I may have forgotten and does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix/proceed?
