How much is my Dell M1710 worth?

Thread Starter
Hey guys I have a 1.5 year old M1710 that is out of warranty and has some light wear and tear.
Specs:
7900gtx w/ 512 mb
100 gb 7200 rpm
2gb RAM
I believe everything else is pretty much standard on all M1710's. If I'm wrong let me know and I'll update the specs.

I would say, based on exchange boards and eBay, that you could get around 1300-1500$. Could get more if you throw in peripheral devices. Good lucks.

idk where ghn got his numbers from :P

but id say in reality:

700$ from a forum/craigslist
900$ from ebay

thats USD

its an outdated video card, you didnt even list the proc/speed/which gen of c2d

eaither way, under 800 tops

^^ probably true as days go on, as price drops like crazy. Offers and quotes are only valid on the day of the input.

cheers ...

Given that it's used, no warranty, and what new machines cost of similar power, 500-700 is your more realistic range. That will drop with every month that passes, and worse if a newer gen of cards comes out that makes that video older.

Did you ever sell this? I have an M1710 as well that I'd like to sell. Which processor do you have?

You could just make your own thread and have someone give you a specific answer for your computer. Also, its a good idea because time has passed and the M1710 has devalued. Anyway, most M1710's are worth somewhere between $700 and $950. If you have a T7600G, then it could be worth as much as $1100. However, you may be able to get more than this selling it on ebay.

I find it amazing that top of the line notebooks in the $2,000 - $4,000 range depreicate SO much in value in the first two years of their usable life, but then they seem to hover at one particualr price range for a lengthy periood of time.

I have been buying carefully selected used notebooks for more than 10 years now, two Inspiron 7500's, two Inspiron 5150's, four Inspiron 9400's, and one XPS M1710.

Although yesteryear's technology just isn't good enough for many, I find myself doing noticable upgrades at very reasonable prices by purchasing previously owned machines.

that is the nature of hardware and the 18month cycles. I like to wait a year then buy them =)

If you get $500 take it.
