Issues with g50V-X1

When I have my headphones plugged in sound is still put out through my speakers. Also, my computer will not sleep anymore. The screen will go blank, flash twice, and return to the log in screen. This all happened out of nowhere in the last month. I use Eset virus protection and have spybot also.

Click on the HD sound manager and go to advanced options you can check a box to have it play threw the headphones and Speakers at the same time, or just one.

Not sleeping could be an issue of the notebook getting an input that wakes it. Check your keyboard for stuck keys.

Well, I couldn't figure out either issue. The only one that worries me is the speakers since I have 3 roomates (Iraq) and they don't really enjoy it all that much. I opened up the HD sound manager and clicked on device advanced settings and only got 2 options; Tie up same type of input jacks, or seperate all input jacks. Am I looking in the right place? Also whenever I plug in my headphones it used to tell me that I plugged in a device into an audio jack. It tells me when I plug them into the other 2 jacks, just not the headphone jack.

Alright I cannot find it in my HD audio panel either on my laptop but my desktop has it. So I will look around and see what I can find. Best bet though is

That is how you should have it set. If that option is not there try to download and reinstall the latest drivers.

I downloaded the Realtek High Definition audio driver version 6.0.1.5704 from the Asus website and the only options I have in the Audio manager are speakers, digital output, and microphone. Then whenclick advanced settings I only have recording otpions.

It doesn't look like the one I posted above?

It does but, at the tabs at the top you have two options, digital output and digital output optical. Mine has speakers, digital output, and microphone. Then in advanced settings the only option is the recording option not the playback. Its like it doesnt even exist.

I have no idea man. Bad port is more then likely the problem. I know you said that it doesn't tell you when you plug anything into it. But does it play audio threw the headphones when they're plugged in?

Yes, it does play through the headphone jack also. I contacted Asus (which was a waste of a phone call that should have been to my wife) they told me to re-install drivers which I did and also update my bios, which I have not done or do not know how to do. Could it be the bios? Appreciate all the help.

Doubt its the BIOS. I will do some more digging and see what I can find.

I sure do appreciate it! You don't even want to know how much it is going to cost to send it to the states from Iraq.

you wouldn't have to send it to the states. Asus has service centers all over the world, so you could send it to one in Europe if that would be cheaper. (although I wouldn't recommend sending it to the UK, as their track record is pretty bad)

I appreciate the help, guess you can't fix them all.
