E1505+usb audio interface=?

Hi,
I have a ESI U46DJ usb audio interface. It has a "guitar" input and a microphone input.
I can record using the guitar input, but not using the microphone input.

Since I can hear the microphone through my monitors, I assume that the audio interface is working.

The battery on my E1505 is dead, and my question is if this may affect its performance, and maybe screw something up for the usb card?
I have tried installing the usb soundcard on a clean windows install without the sigmatel drivers installed. I have also tried installing the usb soundcard drivers while the sigmatel have been installed...

I also do not have the latest BIOS, and I can't update it since my battery is dead. By the way; is there a workaround for this?

Any opinions, thoughts etc. are greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

Do the guitar and Mic Inputs list as seperate audio inputs? You might have to make sure both devices are selected as the active recording input.

In my recording software I can see Input 1/2 and Input 3/4, so I guess they are separate audio inputs. Am I right? Thank you.

I am by no means an audio expert, but yes, it does appear that the inputs are going to be seperate. Obviously so you can adjust the individual recording inputs and turn them on and off individually.
