Dell Express Card /Travel Remote problem

Hi,

I recently purchased my Dell M1330 and uninstalled all the Dell bloat ware that I didn't want.

I was able to use the Express card remote control when I first purchased the laptop, but I don't remember if I used it before I uninstalled all the software. Anyway, the battery in the remote ended up dying on me and when I replaced the battery, the remote doesn't work at all.

I have done some research and found conflicting info on whether or not Dell requires software for the remote to work; some sites say yes and some sites say that it is not necessary. Maybe you have to resync the remote somehow?

I can't figure it out and when I call Dell, they're wanting to charge me before they help me because my warranty expired.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried a system restore/recovery? I find it th.e simplest way to restore the comp at previous state, instead of guessing what software has been removed or what module app must be reinstalled. Then we call panic about hardwarre issues (if any).
