Trying to wake this forum up like the old E1705/M1710 days. Not too fond of the censorship and moderator involvement in my other forum. Please feel free to contribute.

Were do we get some kick ass video card drivers? My M17 driver are dated 7.24.2008 I did go to ati.com but the are is not listed under the mobile cards so I did not want to download wrong drivers.

I think new drivers will also solve my bat problem even at max power dvd are still choppy and I'm not sure why.

sorry if this is a thread jack maybe I should PM

Get the latest DESKTOP 3870 driver from the ATI website. Use a program called Mobility Modder to mod the driver for mobile use.

Do a clean install of the new driver, which means properly uninstalling the old one. There are MANY tutorials on how to do this. Google.

This is what I do, and I net good results.

Impressive scores, more than double the scores of my 2.4G dual 7900gs setup...

If I used my laptop more, I'd be looking to upgrade...

DiRT is an awesome game...

What bios did you use to clock cpu to 3.3?Did you have to use the whitebook one or where you able to do it with alienware?

The whitebook BIOS. You'll void your warranty in the process.
