Inspiron 6400 video

I know you can only upgrade to video cards that are available for your particular system type and if you already have discrete graphics.

Is a 1505 similar enough to my 6400?
Are the 17" big brothers close enough?
I was hoping to find something better than the 7300Go that Dell says was available on my system, despite it not being on the order form.

I have an ATI x1300 and I loathe ATI... horrible drivers.
I want to move to Vista x64 to support 4 GB of RAM, but Dell seems to have ignored my particular laptop for 64 bit drivers, so I'm going to attempt to install ones for similar Dell systems.

I can't use stock ATI drivers, but my friend says he can use stock NVidia drivers on his Dell.

The best upgrade you can get is the Radeon X1400. The E1505 is the EXACT same system as yours, the only difference is the hinge cover and which division you bought it from.

The cards from the 17" systems won't work.
