Dell 1150 Power Up and Shuts Off

My 1150 was working so I thought. I turn it on and the power light and fan come on then it just shuts off. I tried it with just the battery, and just the power supply. Iget the same results either way. I removed the tabs from the wi-fi cover as mentioned in another thread, but no success. Can anyone suggest what steps to take to diagnose the problem? I would appreciate any help I can get. I reseated the Processor and even replaced it with another one from an 1150. Thanks in advance for your help. Phil

try swapping your memory and booting with only one of them installed

the usual step at this point is to try booting up with just a base unit

as in no battery, no Hard Drive, No CDROM, not Wifi etc

If that still results in the same, you may have a motherboard problem, besides the CPU have you tried some memory from another laptop ?

Thanks! I'll try just a base unit and see what gives. I have tons of ram so I canalso try that. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks again Phil

Well I still can not get it to boot! I guess it is time to boot ti out the door! I have a new battery. I have seen a bad battery cause this problem in the past. I don't realy know what to do next! Thanks for all your advice. Phil
