Big and Bulky?
Answer: no, somewhat, and yes.
Lets see if I can explain, of AW's 3 current models m15x, m17x and m17 bulky is such a subjective term. Yes they ARE considerably bulkier than most 15 and 17 inch laptops!!!! (But there is a reason why!!!) These 3 laptops have some of, if not, the absolute tops grfx's performance of all 15 and 17 inch laptops, to accomplish accommodating this huge increase in grfx power requires the laptops to be somewhat, to quite alot, bulkier that non-gaming laptops of the same screen size from companies like dell, hp, sony, etc....
They are even bulkier than some gaming laptops with with high end grfx from makes like asus. But in general when compared to almost all other gaming laptops of equivalent grfx horsepower, the AW's size usually plays second fiddle to their sexy, which tends to be far greater than competing laptops. Thats the yes!
For the somewhat and no, if you compare the sizes of these laptops to similarly capable laptops (from a grfx perspective) they are smaller than some and bigger than others.
That said, both 17 inch models are triple spindle dual grfx card laptops, which means yes they are pretty freakin huge compared to an average laptop, but thats the price u pay for the uber performance they provide.
They dont fit huge grfx cards in them, they use comparatively small mobile versions which are considerably weaker that their desktop cousins but are super powerful compared to other laptop grfx implementations. So yes they are special types (you cant buy them at brick and mortar stores!).
