Extending Dell warranty

i purchased my original system in 2005, and when i go to the warranty extension page, it allows me to extend my warranty from 2009 to 2013... but the rep on the phone says it wont process.... but it still accepts my credit card if i were to put it in... and it allows me to pay for it... i havent yet paid for it.. but is the rep right? can i not extend the warranty til 2013?

i believe the max is 5 years from the date of original purchase

i see... well i bought my system in june 2005, and the warranty ends june 2009, but its letting me buy warranty until march of 2013.... i think its because i got my laptop exchanged from inspiron to xps in march... so yea... im going to see if i can a brand new warranty.

yeah i ended up buying the warranty. it lasts til 2013 now ... so its like i got an 8 year warranty rofl cost me an extra 580 tho but i added complete care as well. and now its xps technical support instead of limited technical support.

better make sure, it is not supposed to be possible to have a longer than 5 year warranty

yeah im pretty sure. it comes up like this...




it has my old warranty as well as the new one... the shipped date is actually the date my inspiron got switched to xps.

call them to confirm it... you dont want to end up needing support and being screwed

yeah that

i know that dell dell doesn't extend warranty's past 5 years because i have tried, maybe you got lucky but i don't think it will last with dell, as soon as they realize they made a mistake it is over...

so i dunno, i didnt go in depth to tell them that im going to have the system for more than 5 years, i just think that in their system, it thinks i got a brand new computer this year (well 2008)

I was way past the 30-day mark for CompleteCare and the rep said I couldn't buy it even though online said I could. I bought it online and when I told him that I did, the rep instantly changed his mind and said that I could buy it. So I'd just do it
