need help with finding a driver

I figure I offer a lot of help around here maybe some of you fellow geeks can help me out this time..... :-)

I just swapped out the motherboard of an old Toshiba A105 notebook with one from eBay and surprisingly enough the new motherboard was a completely different chipset. The new one has an Intel 915GM with a 1.6GHz celuron.

I got it up and running just fine and got drivers for everything but the ethernet. I've tried several from Toshiba and nothing works. Device manager, Windows XP, and PCWizard can't figure out what type of LAN hardware is installed on this thing.

Does anyone have any ideas?

The wireless works just fine so I may just tell the owner to deal with it but I'd rather get it working.

you can try Everest or Sandra- one of them may be able to get you the manufacturer so you can look for drivers on their site

Actually I soved this issue. Nothing seemed to recognize the hardware other than that it was there and had no driver.

It turned out installing a later driver from another Toshiba solved it. It turned out to be a Marvell Yukon and I just needed to keep trying until something worked I guess.

I guess Toshiba will run all kinds of hardware in various models so it makes replacing components really complicated. I had to sacrifice the PCMCIA slot because the replacement motherboard had a different plug type but I gained a firewire port that the original notebook with the AMD chipset lacked. The hole was already pre cut in the case too.
