| I don't like the non-removable battery part but I think about it: how often do you swap out batteries? |
Depends a lot on who you are. Especially when doing work on the road it becomes more popular, but also for instance, the battery on my 15" MBP is already getting weak after about a year and a half, I need to replace it soon. This wasn't even a computer I took on tour, just going back and forth between home, work, and contracts, and appropriate travel.

As far as iLife goes; iPhoto has some sweet new features. Love the facial recognition and the geotagging. Also integration with Google Maps. The fact that you can add that to books and slide shows makes it even easier to keep track of where you've been when you're on holiday. Also the same features in iMovie plus the addition of themes makes creating movies a much more interesting experience. I just wish I did video to take advantage of the new features. I'm not interested in Garageband or iWeb but just iPhoto and iMovie make iLife 09 more than worth it. |
iPhoto, unless they have fixed its ability to choke on even decently large photo collections, all the new features are worthless. My photo collection isn't even that large, a few thousand, but iPhoto slows to a crawl walking them.
iMovie is unfortunately them adding BACK in features that never should have been removed to begin with to be honest.

| The Mac Mini will probably be updated at a special event sometime within the next couple weeks. Same with Snow Leopard; there will probably be a special event announcing it though it's possible they'll hold it until the developers conference. |
That is an assumption. I doubt in particular we will hear much about Snow Leopard at this point until the Dev conference, or at the very least after another few versions of Dev seeds as last I heard it was not to close to being production ready. Since no update was given here I don't expect to hear about it to soon.
Mac Mini updates, I think it will be at least a month, probably more before we hear about another round of hardware updates of any sort after this.

| I think Apple is leaving Macworld because it's cheaper and easier for them to make smaller announcements throughout the year than to hold everything for one big announcement. And why do they have to wow us everytime they announce something? |
My point is that it doesn't make sense for them to continue being at the conferences. Part of giving the keynote would be that people want to watch and/or learn something special. The keynote is supposed to be the central part of a conference, thus the name 'key'note.
They don't need to give the keynote every time, and in my opinion it is pointless to give a keynote unless you have something big to talk about. So when you DO give a keynote, make certain you have something to talk about worthwhile.
I think it was a very good idea for them to leave the conferences because they have not lived up to this expectation in a while to be honest. It doesn't help them to continue doing that, and costs them a lot of money to put on these events.
