Benchmarking Linux

Thread Starter
What tools can be used to get comprehensive benchmarks within Linux? Is there a suite of benchmarks that can be installed?

Phoronix Test Suite.

We have discussed adding Linux benchmarks here at Notebook Forums as part of our reviews, so if you get some benchmarks done, PM me and I will bring it up again to look into.

I know you said a suite but I just wanted to mention that some of the familiar tools are available too such as Mprime (stress) and Superpi are available too.

Yep nothing against them, though I personally find them, especially stress, to be less useful for benchmarking, and much more useful for stress testing and looking for errors. But if they work for you, go right ahead

Never used SuperPi though/
