War of the "thinnest" notebooks?

Interesting new article today:

A recent dig through Dell’s trademarks turned up a couple of curiosities – “Adamo” and “Adamo by Dell.”According to the documents, the trademarks cover computer hardware, including possibly desktops and laptops.
with prelude a few weeks back:

Reports in the last day or so have offered up some tidbits about an "Adamo" laptop purportedly in the works at Dell. Citing a "totally amazing" source, Engadget says that a superthin, black-and-silver laptop by that name is a bona fide product-in-waiting, with a little extra emphasis on "waiting":

Wondering if we can also say "netbooks" vs "thinbooks".

Netbooks and "thinbooks" are definitely aimed at opposite market segments. Netbooks are aimed at average consumers who want a small cheap computer to carry around with them, while thin notebooks like this potential upcoming one from Dell and existing models from Lenovo, Apple, and Voodoo are aimed at the previous subnotebook user that doesn't mind spending thousands of dollars for style and bragging rights.

I got a "netbook" because my sub-netbook is a still bit cumbersome for travelling, and use it mainly to keep connected with homebase (mail, skype, internet), working on my office presentations and maps. The things that i had a hard time performing with N95 and the I900.

This Samsung NC-10 ain't cheap, coming at 400€ plus. It is great to carry around though

Thinnest and smallest "notebook" I´ve ever had is the Jornada 680.

Too bad they don´t make them like these anymore.

I would not be sruprised if they are considering revamping and bringing these cool "net-thinbooks" back. Of course with a better looking wrapping :-)

I agree, we live in strange times indeed where style and bling are all that anyone is concerned with to the point where performance and build quality dont seem to even enter the average consumers thoughts.
