My new setup.

This is the Raised XPS I posted on this forum a year ago.

I just upgraded a few things in my living room and now, this is it's permanent home. I've been running this setup since July and I can't imagine life without it.

Its hooked up with a DVI to HDMI cable and looks great. I bought a sweet bluetooth keyboard and mouse combo from dell. Now my TV "is" a computer. All my movies and music are on my server and it's basically a home theatre computer.

How big is your sharp screen? 42"? I had a similar setup with a 32" Sharp Aquos, loved it! They make for great computer displays. Although to be honest I sat too close to it and it killed me haha. Seems like a cool situation though, although I haven't tried the distance computing all that much myself

52" big boy. Res is set to 1360x768. Seems a bit big, but you can read everything on the screen from the couch. I haven't played much for games, but did a test run of left 4 dead looks and sounds great.

Any issues being that far away from the big screen? On mine I have a hard time reading half the stuff even on a 56 inch.

Nope, at 1360x768 the txt is clear and completly legible. Although my wife who wears glasses has to set IE explorer at 150% so she can read without her glasses.

You should also look at the font size of windows. I think I set mine to small, and lowered the res to get the perfect size for viewing from that far away. I did have to tweak settings to get it just right. It didn't look as good on default settings. Play around and see what works best for you.

Will do. First thing I am going to look at is the font size. Hopefully that helps out. But it could be my vid card too. Not exactly top of the line.
