Windows 7 Beta 32bit or 64bit?? - Page 2

post #21 of 24
IK8FANgui does not install into windows 64bit - installs into 32 bit but the 64bit version is not allowed - seems window 7 is refusing to accept its driver and kills the install.

Am running 32 bit on my 9400 and 64bit on my M6400 - both installed fine got a 3Dmark 06 score on the M6400 of 11250 and super pi 1M in 17.25 sec - M6400 scores 5.9

Processor = 6.4 T9600
Ram = 6.4 = 8 gig 1088 DDR3
Graphics = 7.9 = FX3700
Gaming Graphics = 5.9 as above
Hard drive = 5.9 (raid 0 2x120gig 7200rpm)

am replacing the HDD with 2x500gig 7200 rpm so will see what the extra data density does to this score

64-bit, Baby!

Runs great on my HTPC. RivaTuner works just fine (and if you make it a scheduled task then UAC won't prompt you every startup). There are quirks, but it is a beta after all. And although I do use it 24/7 now, I wouldn't replace my OS with it. I still have my old OS on dual-boot if I need it.

To start a program at startup with UAC privileges:

- Start "Task Scheduler"
- Create a new task
- Enter a name and description
- Check "Run with highest privileges"
- Create a Trigger for "At log on" for the main user
- Create an Action to "Start a program" with the path and arguments
- DONE!
