CD Driver Not Working - Page 2

Well, you can always reinstall I suppose if you backup your files. I mean there are other approaches but I'd probably just reinstall the OS.

hm, ok. how long would it take to do that whole process of uninstalling, then re-installing?
Depending on your skill level installing Windows can take between 1 and 3 hours. Could take the better part of a day to get all your software reinstalled as well as your files transferred from your backup.

You might want to also make sure that all needed drivers are available on hand (on a CD) before starting. This would save some extra time and headaches afterward. Best thing is using a free 3rd party software to backup all the current drivers and save them to a CD.

so do you think ccleaner could have possibly messed it up? if so, how would this have happened?
Others have different opinion, I have yet experienced a boo-boo caused by using cCleaner. So, I don't think cCleaner was the culprit.

But if we discuss about tools like cCleaner and the likes, then the mess probably was caused by some corrupted and/or missing registry entries.
