m6809 memory upgrade slot has a 256mb chip in it. Cant upgrade with my 512 stick!!

Uh..I am kinda disappointed.. I bought this M6809 NB and an extra 512 mem stick..I go to upgrade the mem when I get it home ...and I have to REMOVE 256 Mem stick in the upgarde slot to insert my 512!!!!

Why didnt they put a 512 in the internal slot?????? And leave the upgrade slot free???

Man I am bummed.

Anyone else notice this or did I get a bum (or possibly returned machine some one had been inside of already?)

2 256mb sticks are cheaper than 1 512mb. Almost all companies do that unless you pay extra and they allow you to configure it. Memory and upgrading has been discussed multiple times on this board. You can still upgrade the other slot, but it's just hard to get to, and may void your warranty.
