amd vs intel

Thread Starter
im a hard core gamer. I would like to know which processor in better in games?

athlon 6000+ or c2d e7200?
The Core 2 Duo E7200 is more powerful. Most games depend more heavily on the graphics card than the processor, though.

Have you bothered to look at the cost of an AM3 mother board and Phenom II vs i7 mother board and i7 CPU?

AM3 mobo's aren't worth it imo... ddr3 is too expensive for the performance gain for AMDs.

Not sure about absolute value of AM3 vs AM2, but the price of DDR3 memory has come wayyyyyyy down. 4GB of DDR3 now available for much less than $100.

Truth.

Also,

While the E7200 is a faster cpu overall, the 6000+ X2 does excel in certain games. I'd pick the cheaper of the two.

My point of view AMD is better for gaming and Intel are a lot more popular for home/office work.

As always it would be intel. since i live in sri lanka we don't have access to AMD products whatsoever. so gaming or no gaming. i'd still go for Intel
