I have an Inspiron 1501 with a 15.4" True-life Widescreen WXGA. The note book started to make an electrical hiss/crackling noise then the screen went dark. If you look hard (or with a flashlight) you can see the desktop image. On susequent start ups the LCD works then hisses then goes dark. Image is still there barely. Not sure if it is the LCD inverter or backlight? Thinking about buying a new LCD screen from DELL for $200. Any thoughts. Thanks, SAM
