Power problem

Thread Starter
I was just wondering if someone could help me solve a power problem with my laptop. I have an old Latitude Cpi laptop which stopped working when the AC charger is plugged in.
If I remove the charger, the laptop boot up without problem, but when I connect it back again it will stop imediately.
The LED on the charger stays on green steadily, so I suppose it's a problem on the motherboard. Removing the battery and using another AC charger didn't help neither.

If it's the case, I was wondering if there's something on the market to emulate a laptop battery, which can be connected directly to the power outlet without using another charger?

Thanks

no such device exists that you are thinking of. There are batteries that work via the DC Jack, but not the other way around. Even if it did it'd probably cost more than your laptop is worth.

I'd say the problem is definitely with your motherboard, but the CPI is so old you might as well just toss it. Latitude CPIs were old 5 years ago. In 2009 they might as well be an abacus (no offense)
