Msi - M670x

Thread Starter
I have a big problem with my laptop...
Its not a monster machine, but its good enough to run NFS Undercover on least visual effects (if that could be some kind of ranking).
Its MSI - M670X
Mods:
AMD Mobile Sempron 3200+ (pluged in ~1800, battery ~800)
nVidia gForce go 6100 512(shared)
1GB of RAM (part is shared with GRAM)
Now, if I install Windows XP, after few minutes of fresh system and aditional program install for basic use, when I start playing movie my laptop blocks for a few seconds (or more) with bursting sound from movie (the same happends when I slide movies time line). That is not common thing, but it happens enough times to make me go crazy.
Now, when I install Ubuntu HH, after "important security updates" (but it could be more cause installing drivers for nVidia Graphic card) and few minutes (or houers) of work, laptop blocks for good.
When I install Vista, laptop seams to work fine, doesn't block (for now) doesn't make my graphics go crazy, like with some home-made editions of XP like Black XP... system works fine, but having more then 500MB in use all the time, and leaving me with bit more then 300 left, just doesn't make my work comfy.
Could anyone tell me what is the problem with my laptop, why does it has to break, why does it has to freez every time Im sure its OK... I mean, performance are enoghe to make my work comfy but why is every system not comfortable with my laptop (but Vista).
Does anyone has the same laptop as I do and had simular problems as I did, I would just like to know the answers to them.

It sounded like an issue with drivers that you are having, when one OS performs better than others.

As far as Vista using (taking advantage) more ram, the OS should release the ram as apps or other processes need.

cheers ...
