Vista Home Premium 64bit?

Hi-

I'm buying one of those new Dell Studio XPS 16 notebooks next week and I see they are only being offered by Dell with 64bit versions of Vista. Will any software that I currently use (that I've only been using with 32bit versions of Vista) work with 64bit versions of Vista? In other words, are they backwards compatible?

List them out, you can also check the net for Vista 64bits compatibility software. Best bet also is to check the software websites for updates and notes.
