Acer aspire 5601 screen into aspire 300

It appears the backlight on my aspire 3000 has gone. I can make out the display normally but only in the dark at certain angles. I bought an aspire 5601 off ebay that has had coffee poured over the keyboard (theres no life in it whatsoever). Im wanting to use the screen off the 5601 on the 3000.

Ive swapped the whole lid over but the motherboard connections are different. Is it possible to get an adapter? Or is the other end of the cable interchangable?

Also what part is likely to be damaged by pouring coffee on the 5601? The whole motherboard?

Any other ideas welcomed,

If the lcd does not fit, i.e. cable/connector, I would recommend getting another one. No need to muck about with tweaking cable and connector.

That is the problem with trying to swap lcds etc from one machine to another. Hookups in the wrong place, different connectors. As for the spilled coffee on the motherboard. Who knows, sugar, milk, even water has chemicals in it that can oxidize and short out/corrode different components. Hard to say what may be the problem. You can always try removing the motherboard and carefully try to clean it with distilled water and making sure it is absolutely dry before replacing it.
You best bet would be to find a 3000 for parts with a good display, or a 5601 with a good keyboard and bad display
