and i have seen a quote from jack valenti (head of the MPAA) saying that if you want a backup copy for a movie you purchased, you should buy another one
and this is an interesing article that an MIT student had with jack valenti where he basically asks him why its illegal for linux users to crack the CSS encryption of DVDs so that they can watch them on their computers
and i love how in the dmca it says "[n]othing in this section shall affect rights, remedies, limitations, or defenses to copyright infringement, including fair use..."
restricting fair use is everything that the dmca does !!!!
