Hi,
New member here and I *think* I've done my homework. Specifically, DELL site searches, 'net searches and forum searches. I cannot find anyone (save one vague reference from a 'net search) who has tried to go beyond the 512MB RAM limit on an Inspiron 2650.
Has anyone here experimented with this?
From a 'net search, I found a reference to someone who said that the Inspiron 2650 motherboard is the same as one or more other Dell models and that putting one 1GB PC2700 DDR stick in the user-accessbile slot worked. (I'm assuming the keyboard had been taken off and the other slot emptied.). Yet they did not provide a part number or much detail.
I know what the max. is supposed to be - 512MB. I get the idea that it just might not work. But has anyone here actually tried and if they've gotten it to work, can a part number or any other details be supplied? Supposedly the original info came from a Dell tech who was willing to experiment.
In advance thanks for the help. This looks like a very useful forum.
