So I was given a D9t model notebook, which was pretty cool. But it was completely hosed, no OS at all. So for the past week I've been struggling to get XP ProSP3 to work on it. Finally got past all the RAID stuff, got most of the drivers loaded, not too bad for a guy who knows next to nothing about these things.
But I'm having huge problems with the sound. I've done a ton of searching on the 'net and saw different "solutions", but nothing is working.
First off, using Everest Home Edition, it shows motherboard as a Clevo D900T.
I've tried installing the Microsoft UAA drivers prior to any RealTek drivers, but still no joy. Tried the AC97 drivers, the newer drivers, nothing.
The only progress I've even made to this point is going through Add New Hardware, doing a physical search using the "Have Disk" option, pointing it to the RealTek drivers folder, and even then it will show RealTek Audio in my device manager, but it has a yellow ! next to it and an error saying the device will not start.
So I'm not even sure what to try anymore. Hopefully someone else has had the same issue and can give me some simple steps.
BTW... and not sure if it has anything to do with anything, but device manager has my modem listed like 50 times. If I try to uninstall one, the computer refinds it, but just before it auto installs the drivers for it, it recognizes it as a HD Audio device. Then it simply jumps to the modem driver and makes it a modem.
Thanks in advance for any help....
