hi, i have the notebook listed above, it all works ok when its running off the battery.

but when i plug in the charger it wont boot to windows.

if i boot to windows with just the battery then plug in the charger, windows crashes and i have to restart, anyone know of any solution to this?

the laptop spec is:

p4 3.06ghz
512mb ram
128mb ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9000
windows xp home.

dont wana go spending money on a new charger if it isnt the problem, thanks in advance

It will be tough not to get a hand on another adapter to try out; since everything so far pointed to that direction. And I do hope that it is the adapter, and not some internal circuitry or power jack issue.

Borrow one, or go to a shop and ask them to test with their adapter. If it works, then you can buy it from them.

cheers ...

thanks for your reply, im going to nip to a repair shop tomorrow.

whats weird is, i can have the charger plugged in while im in the bios or at the post screen, it just crashes before it boots from any source - Hard drive/CD rom/ Removable media device.

If it happens the same with another adapter, then we can start playing with swapping ram modules around.

cheers ...
