Anyone have any luck finding these?

The m9700 and m9750 use the same keyboard, yet I haven't had any luck finding one....

Area-51 M9750 (M9700i-R1 Series) keyboard, numbers on part include MP-03753US-839

I recently contacted Alienware support(now that my warranty has ran out) and asked them for a replacement keyboard and they said that it was out of stock for the moment and they advised me to google it.This is the closest I could find<http://www.notebook-doctor.com/it-pi-n-Keyboard_german_for_Alienware_Aurora_M9750-pId-1511713.html>. I need one since(last year) I was carrying my laptop in my check in baggage when leaving the US and my ex-shower gel(thanks Axe!) spilled over the back grills and few keys of my keyboard weren't working.Everything worked fine. Hell I overclocked my CPU but the keyboard didn't work. Hesitant to buy it since it is German and I can't edit the keys for English(that's what I think).

PS Didn't post this for a while since I wanted a fellow sufferer!

The order is different. Even I thought it was english! Cancel it if you haven't already done so!

Hint - Look at the first alphabetical row - QWERTZUIOP...U(with 2 dots)

Aha! Thanks. I hadn't ordered yet.

Interesting though, I noticed a board on ebay on a past auction that was listed with the same model number, then it also said it was a D90T Clevo board.

So I looked at Clevos site, and it seems that the D90T Clevo board is the same as the m9700 board with a very slight difference in the labeling of the Function keys. The design and shape looked identical.

I know that these notebooks are made with Clevo chassis, just like Vigor notebooks are, and it got me thinking, maybe a standard D90T Clevo board would work....

If I cant find a replacement soon, Ill order a Clevo and see if it works....

Now if that is true that the m9700 and m9750 use a D90T keyboard, then the m7700 keyboard is the same too.. It also uses the D90T Clevo keyboard.

Hmmmm.....

All I know is I am tired of lugging around this USB keyboard everywhere I go...

UPDATE: You could modify the keys to behave it as the UK standard if you wanted to. In my opinion I used it (in my younger years) on my ancient computer(IBM PC 300PL) and I was more comfortable at typing on it than when I got my Alienware and was staring at it for hours wondering wtf happened to the keys!

English one(wiki)
UK vs US layouts (wiki)

If you do get it, tell me how it works and before you make it work change the keyboard input language to UK standard. You don't have to change the main language. I think you know how to do this...right?

EDIT: How do you delete posts?

m9700 and m9750s are NOT Clevos. they are Arima chassis. Do not order them they might look the same but they probably have different ways of fitting in the computer. I thought of the similar fashion of the m17 keyboard. Turns out it doesn't fit in the m9750 (although the reverse is true). and keep in touch with Alienware. They might just get out a keyboard for us. But yes, my patience is running out!

Well, I don't look at the keys anyways, I don't care if they were all Q's as long as they typed the letters I needed them to type when I'm clicking them lol.

My whole issue is, I can't use any of the function keys with this USB keyboard.

My webcam doesn't work, I can't adjust the brightness or contrast, its just a major pain in the rear.... As long as I can get those keys to work, I could care less what letters or symbols are on them.

Ya, but what the rep told me was that the bios for the m7700 and the m9750 were different so I could not install the m7700 keyboard on the m9750. Yes, I too considered the m7700 keyboard!

Looks like the safest route would be that m9750 keyboard in german.

Any progress yet? Have you made the purchase?

No, I am still USB keyboarding it for now.

Why what happened? Did they decline the purchase? Is it for show only? :P

Or maybe you don't have the cash...

I decided I didn't want a german keyboard. Now that my notebook isn't working at the moment, I have the time to wait around to find a standard one in English.

Why not just get the German and replace it with the English characters?
