NC6000 Recovery Partition Needed

Thread Starter
I recently bought a used nc6000, and the previous owner had apparently formated the hard drive, so i no longer have the recovery partition or any way of making recovery disks.

There is nothing on my hard drive at all related to "All Programs > HP Backup & Recovery > HP Backup and Recovery Manager"

When I boot the computer, pressing F10 or F12 only leads to the BIOS

I've contacted HP, and they said that the computer is out of warranty, and they cannot provide me the disks.

I need to restore the computer to its original state, and i the only thing i have is the Windows XP Pro COA sticker on the bottom.

If there is anyone out there who could get me a copy of the recovery partition please contact me.

P.S. I keep reading threads about getting rid of the partition as it is a "waste of space" and I just keep thinking how great it would be to have one.

Thank You.

you should be able to use a xP Pro installation disk from friends, and use the COA at the bottom for activation. Drivers = HP support site has all of them.

Recovery disks replacement can be had for some cost from HP.

cheers ...
