Connection Problems with the M7700!!!!

OK.. I need a little help from anyone who may have some insight. I have aurora M700 the problem is 2 fold. It came with a external wireless card in which it works fine. However my g/f wanted a internal wireless card. I bought one and installed it. The laptop has service pack 3 and windows XP installed the drivers for ths card. However it says its unconnected and can not connect. I know there is some little switch when installing the wireless card that needs to be in the "ON" position. If its off I undertand you will get no signal? Does anyone know where this switch is???

The second problem I am having is strange. For some reason i can not download and install Yahoo messenger 9.0 on this laptop. I download it to the desktop and then proceed with installing. I will either get a " unsuccessful installition" box or the laptop will want me to restart while messenger is still installing. If i type in my messenger name it does not work? I am baffled why any ideas???

There is no physical switch for the wireless adapter on the M7700. You need to use the keyboard. Hold down the "FN" key and then press the key that has an antennae on it. I dont have my 7700 on me at the moment so I cant say exactly which key it is....

Sorry cant help you with the Yahoo thingy....

There may be a bios setting you have to change. See if there's anything in the bios about internal wireless.

Also, go into the device manager and see if it shows up there.

From there, check your internet connections in internet options to be sure you've got the wireless card installed and chosen as the default connection.
