| Electronic Arts has revealed two new Battlefield sequels from DICE currently titled as Battlefield 1943 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Battlefield 1943 will take gamers one year ahead in the World War II from Battlefield 1942. No specific date has been set, but both games are scheduled for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. As the name suggests, Bad Company 2 is powered by Frostbite game Engine used in the first Bad Company and will be its direct sequel. The developer studio promises that this sequel would be similarly expansive and will have fully-destructible environments. Battlefield 1943, on the other hand will take gamers to World War II with three reworked maps of Battlefield 1942 - Guadalcanal, Wake Island, and Iwo Jima. Surprisingly, the maximum players that can join 1943 game are 24 instead of traditional lavish 64 players. Karl Magnus Troedsson, executive producer for DICE, proclaimed, "Bad Company 2 takes everything that players liked in the original and ups the ante -- more vehicles, more destruction, and more team play." EA will also offer digital download of Battlefield 1943 - on PC, Xbox Live, and the PlayStation Store. |
