M9700 wireless card

My m9700 Airgo wireless card stopped working. The card can be seen by windows but no driver can be installed.

I've tried a fresh install of XP and Vista, both are the same. That leads me to believe it is a hardware problem.

Anyone ever replaced the Airgo with some other wireless card in the m9700? Is it possible? I've opened machine up several times to artic silver and clean, but I've never really spotted where this card is.

Here's a knowledge base article on how to load the driver in Vista, might try this to see if it works.

I remember reading some posters here that got an atheros based miniPCI card off ebay and it worked well for them.

Here is AW's article on the wireless in the m9700. It's located under the keyboard.

I had an issue with my m9700/airgo card also. I think windows update loaded the wrong driver in an update, and I couldn't get it to work until I did a respawn of the original setup. You did an install from scratch though, so it should work if it's worked before unless it's hardware...
