I own two AW laptops, the mALX and the M15X. I have run into some problems with them recently and was wondering if anyone else has and if anyone has some advice on how to deal with them.
They are:
(1) The mALX for the most part sits on my desk hooked up to my 22inch Samsung monitor (I use dual screens). Over the past few weeks the Samsung has been flickering allot when I first turn the laptop on. It usually stops after a few seconds. Then in the past few days it gos dark at times, as it did this morning. I played around with the Nvidia program and eventually it was fine. I also checked the connection (it is DVI) and it looks fine on both ends. Could this be a driver problem? Any ideas?
Bad news! I had the monitor working, and turned off my lappy. The screen was still working showing the floating block that is supposed to show when computer is off. Unofortunately my wife awoke at 3am and saw the light from the monitor coming from my den, so she went and turned the monitor off....FATAL MISTAKE!! That was over 16 hours ago and I am still unable to turn it back on...well I have been able to get the power buton to turn on but not the monitor if that makes sense. Now the monitor will not turn off (even though it is black) unless I unplug it. Then when I plug it back in the power button is lit but still a black screen! I was very very mad at the wife for turning it off!!
I have had this monitor since last August, so if it doesn't work in the morning I will box it up and take it back to Best Buy, and ask for a replacement. How do you think that will go over?
